A nice addition to any website is a video. The internet seems to have diminished most people’s attention span, so a video is helpful for breaking up a page full of text.
While it may seem complicated to some, webcams and phones make recording video easier than ever and a minute or two of video can go a long way. Your patients are not expecting professional quality, so a video of you sitting at your desk, sharing relevant information is all it takes.
Getting the video on your website is just as easy. Simply upload it to YouTube and they will give you the code needed to put it on your website. It’s really just a matter of copying and pasting.
So, now knowing that the process is pretty straightforward, here are the 7 reasons to have a video on your practice website:
1. It’s more fun than text
YouTube gets millions of hits a day for good reason, videos are easier to consume than text. Rather than write a full page trying to explain a procedure, why not shoot a quick 3-minute video?

Patients can be a bit nervous when they come into your office because certain treatments or procedures are unknown to them. Video allows you to explain a treatment in friendly, calming way.
3. Creates a connection
It’s hard to develop a relationship with a patient through a weideobpage. A video allows them to see your personality, perhaps get a glimpse of your office, and an introduction to your staff.
4. Attracts New Patients
Similar to creating a connection with your current patients, if a potential new patient has stumbled across your website by way of Google, they will be more likely to book an appointment with you if they can get a sense of your personality and office vibe.
5. Shows That You’re An Expert
Blogging is a great way to show that you are indeed an expert in your field and we certainly recommend that you post an article to your blog at least once every couple weeks. However, you can consider video blogging as an alternative. Simple, informative videos rather than detailed text blog posts.

If your website is innovative, it reflects well on your practice as a whole. If you are staying on top of web technology, it gives your patients confidence that you are also staying up to date in your healthcare field.

There is something so easy about sharing a video. Get a piece of that pie. Create interesting content and people will naturally want to share it with their friends, thus attracting new patients to your website.
