ClinicSense offers tools that are unique when compared to MassageBook. On top of all of the tools to manage your client files, ClinicSense also includes sales & marketing tools to help you attract new clients and grow your business through repeat bookings. These features include:
Every massage business is different and ClinicSense’s SOAP notes allow you to tailor your notes to the unique needs of your business.
ClinicSense starts you off with 3 different SOAP note templates. You can use any of those SOAP note templates or create your own templates that are fully customized for your business. This includes the ability to create different templates for the different services that you offer.
You can then choose the SOAP note that’s best suited for the treatment you’re providing. For example, if you offer both prenatal massage and neuromuscular therapy, you can use different templates for each service since you will record different information for each service type.
This is an automated email campaign that goes out to clients after their appointment to ask them to rate you on a scale of 1 to 10. If they rate you a 9 or 10, they are encouraged to leave a review on Google. If they rate you 1 to 8, they are encouraged to leave private feedback so you know how you can do better in the future for that client. MassageBook also has a reviews feature, but the client is encouraged to leave a review within the MassageBook platform, not on Google, so it will not help your Google ranking.
ClinicSense keeps a record of all email reminders sent to your clients in our email log, which is accessible on the client file. This makes it easy for you to check the status of your email reminders and confirm whether clients have received them. For clients who frequently don't show up for appointments, this is a simple way to hold them accountable and have the necessary information when deciding how to handle no-shows.
ClinicSense will scan your calendar for availability and send an email to your clients with a summary of your availability and a prompt for them to book online. This simple reminder works wonders and ClinicSense is seeing each therapist that uses this feature earn an additional $960/mo.
"ClinicSense SOAP notes are soooo easy to do!"
Additionally, ClinicSense offers a direct integration with Square Payments and the Square Terminal Device for seamless payments
MassageBook was convoluted and overhyped. A client recommended ClinicSense, as it was easier to book through. Happy I made the switch. ClinicSense has provided quality online booking for clients, SOAP notes, invoices, marketing, customized generated reports and excellent customer service. Glad I chose CS over the competition.
I can't imagine using anything else, at this point. It has everything I need and more. If I have a problem with something, they're usually already working on it! Plus with 1.3% less in transaction fees from Square by using ClinicSense.
No show protection is MUCH more secure and reliable. SOAP note integration, memos, and customizable intake forms make tracking and understanding my clients needs incredibly easy.
ClinicSense tends to be the innovator and MassageBook seems to eventually initiate the features later.
For clients seeing the name of the practice management software, I preferred the name ClinicSense.
Many independent massage therapists are starting to follow the franchise model where their customers will commit to one treatment every month for a year in exchange for a discounted rate on treatments. In this model, their credit card is billed automatically each month. If this is the business model that you use, MassageBook has a feature to manage your memberships.
If you are primarily a mobile massage therapist MassageBook offers an outcall feature where you can define your service area. When a client tries to book a mobile massage they’ll enter their address and will only be allowed to book if they are within your service area.
Once entered into the software, MassageBook reserves the right to contact your clients to sell their branded gift certificates. These gift certificates, if purchased by your clients can be used at any clinic on the MassageBook directory.
MassageBook operates an online directory for businesses to list their services, providing an additional marketing platform. Appointments made through the directory are subject to a service fee, which is a percentage of the appointment revenue paid to MassageBook.
ClinicSense offers a free trial so you'll have a chance to try it out before buying. This includes completing your complete account setup, so you can see just how easy it is.
Both ClinicSense and MassageBook offer a free trial giving you plenty of time to see which product is the best for your business.
In addition to this, ClinicSense also offers a built-in guided tour and you’ll be partnered with a dedicated Customer Success Coach who you are free to email and text with to get all of your questions answered promptly.
The table below compares the pricing of ClinicSense and MassageBook. The most similar plans are the ClinicSense Standard Plan and the MassageBook Amplify Plan:
* When a new customer searches for your business on Google or finds your business through the MassageBook website and books an appointment, there is a 15% service fee paid to MassageBook ($15 on a $100 treatment).
After talking to customers of both ClinicSense and MassageBook, it seems the decision generally comes down to:
ClinicSense is a better choice for professionals who are looking for 100% customizable SOAP notes and forms that will offer more flexibility. It may also be a better fit if you’re looking for new clients and additional help filling your appointment book.
MassageBook may be a better fit if your business model is primarily selling monthly memberships or doing outcalls.
With both companies offering a free trial, we’d recommend exploring both products and choosing the one that you feel is of higher quality and a better fit for the long-term growth of your business.
