How To Market Your Clinic To Golfers

While the Northeast is still getting hammered with snow and subzero temperatures, it’s not too early to think about and prepare for beautiful Spring weather.

 

Often, the first people to take advantage of early Spring days are golfers. And even though we’re still in the middle of winter, you can be certain that they are preparing for the upcoming golf season. Not only perfecting their swing, but they have already started planning several golf tournaments for the year.

 

And this is where there is a great opportunity to market your clinic: at golf tournaments. This is a good opportunity because it is a targeted opportunity. Golf tournaments often attract:

  1. Local golfers
  2. Active people
  3. People with higher incomes

People with these three attributes are great candidates for long-term clients. And golf tournaments are often looking for sponsors and activities to compliment the actual golfing.

 

For massage therapists, the opportunity is setting up an area for chair massage. This can involve three separate areas: pre-game, post-game, and right on the course. For pre-game, a 5 to 10 minute massage will relax the body and prepare the muscles for exercise – improving circulation, flexibility, and range of motion. A post-game massage helps relax stiff muscles and helps players recover from soreness.

 

The third option of being right on the course is a very popular choice. Setting up your chair massage on one of the holes allows players to get a very quick refresher during their game, loosening up their muscles and increasing their potential.

 

Be sure to have some signage with your business name, location, and contact information and also hand out brochures with your business information. These brochures should include golf-specific information like: the benefits of massage for their golf game, a list of some stretches that will help their game, and of course, how to book an appointment with you.

 

It may seem early, but now’s the time to make a list of golf courses in your area and as soon as March hits give them a call, ask them about their tournament plans this year and how you can get involved.
